Explanation of the operation of the exposition calculator
After selecting the appropriate information of machine use, hit the OK button in the data entry area to calculate the accelerations and point values in three directions (x, y, z) of the working section, which are displayed in the field “Result of the entered load”. A new choice of the machine use leads to the correction of the display. Please note at entering the exposure duration that times without exposure with vibration are not included!
By hitting the RESUME button in the field “Result of the entered load”, the part exposure is entered in the load section table in the survey field and the daily exposure is calculated in the form of daily exposure points for the load sections entered here (maximum five).
If the total duration of exposure exceeds the maximum allowed daily working time of 12 hours, the message “No realistic working time!” is displayed. An exposure calculation does not take place then.
When calculating the Daily exposure, a comparison is made with the action and exposure limit values valid in Germany in accordance with the Noise and Vibrations Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. Depending on the level of exposure, a hint appears and the following measures must be taken:
No risk | A(8) is less than the action value (0.5 m/s² or 100 points): if there could be a risk, always observe the risk assessment with documentation, the state of the art customary within an industry and indirect hazards |
Action value reached | A(8) reaches or exceeds the action value, but is less than or equal to the exposure limit (see below): Information and measures (program) for exposure reduction; general occupational medical advice; Offer preventive occupational medical care (mandatory from reaching the exposure limit value) |
Exposure limit exceeded! | A(8) exceeds the exposure limit (in x- / y-direction 1,15 m/s² or 529 points respectively 0,8 m/s² or 256 points in z-direction): immediate determination of causes and immediate measures to reduce below the exposure limit; obligate occupational medical care |
For the documentation of your stress analysis, you can create a printable document under “Print result” and e. g. embed it in the risk assessment.
